GamerLegion have announced the signing of Aleksandr "shalfey" Marenov, who is set to take over in-game leadership of the team from Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski after the Pole got benched earlier on Wednesday.
shalfey joins the team after spending the last two months playing for ex-RUSTEC in several online competitions. The 24-year-old averaged a 1.06 rating across multiple stints in different domestic rosters during 2026, but is now tasked with leading his first international project.
The news comes shortly after GamerLegion bombed out of the PGL Bucharest 2027 Closed Qualifier in last place, putting them almost out of the Singapore Major race.
shalfey will make his GamerLegion debut at the RLG Tesla Cup 2026, where the international squad are set to face Envy in the first round.
