Nemiga’s remarkable Bucharest run continues with a 2-0 upset over Vitality in the PGL Masters semi-finals with a 13-8 on Cache and a 13-11 on Dust2. Nikita "robo" Dushin led the series with 46 kills, 101 ADR, and a 1.52 rating.
Nemiga's tournament run is also visible in the VRS ranking, as the live preview shows them being awarded 56 points for beating Vitality, going from 1,589 points and 12th globally to 1,645 and 10th. That represents a gain of 153 points and 13 places since their opening match.
Nemiga wasted little time on Cache, racing into a 7-1 lead. Vitality won the remaining four rounds of the half to give themselves a way back, but their recovery stalled after the switch. robo led the way with 24 kills as his team closed out their pick 13-8, while William "mezii" Merriman, who is acting IGL in Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's absence, struggled with just three frags and 49.6 ADR.
The Englishman found his footing again on Dust2, producing a quad kill in the final round of the half to help his team take an 8-4 lead, a response which added to Vitality's hope of forcing a decider.
Nemiga gradually erased the deficit after the break, however, drawing level at 10-10. Vitality edged ahead once more, but that was their final round as Nemiga won three straight to complete the sweep, 13-11. mezii finished with 22 kills and a map-leading 1.60 rating, but could not force Mirage, while the IGL on the other side of the server, robo, added another 22 frags to secure Nemiga’s place in the final.
Nemiga's dark horse run continues as they now contend to win it all in Bucharest, and they will face the winner of MOUZ vs. FURIA in the grand final.
