Falcons have continued their flawless start to their ESL Pro League Season 24 campaign with a 2-0 victovery over Aurora, dominating on Mirage (13-4) before a strong late surge granted them the win on Dust2 (13-10).
Before the event Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin labelled ESL Pro League as a "high priority tournament" for Falcons, citing the team's need to show what they are capable of after an indifferent season thus far.
Falcons went about building upon their 2-0 event opener over TYLOO with aplomb on Aurora's pick of Mirage, a dominant CT side, powered by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, giving way to simple conversion on T side off the back of a René "TeSeS" Madsen 1v4 in the pistol round.
Özgür "woxic" Eker and Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş gave Aurora a chance to level the series on Dust2, providing immense impact on the CT side to give their team a lead at halftime, but Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov came alive in the second half to help Falcons rack up eight rounds in a row and close the series.
Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski would have been hoping to prove a point to Falcons in his first match again them since leaving earlier this year, but Aurora were comfortably second-best across the game.
This matchup also served as a litmus test for Aurora, who managed to bag second-place in their previous outing at StarSeries Fall. Whilst things are starting to come together for the newly-minted international roster, they still have work to do if they are to compete with the best teams in the world on a regular basis.
