1win have sent Liquid crashing out of the qualifier, whilst 100 Thieves and BC.Game are set for a titanic clash in the next round after they won their opening playoff matches.
In the biggest matchup of the round between 1win and Liquid, A T-side masterclass ensured 1win started the series against on the right foot. Excellent play from Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov and Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov drove a methodical offense to an emphatic 10-2 lead which, despite a second-round force-buy win in the second half, Liquid could not recover.
Liquid answered back with an equally dominant showing on Anubis, Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa hitting some fine form on the CT side to punish 1win's ponderous and unconvincing attack, before Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and Georgi "Jorko" Mitev took over in the second half to seal the deal.
Cache was the Andrey "BELCHONOKK" Yasinskiy show, the rifler putting up an incredible performance that began with a Deagle 4K with his team on a full eco, from which he never looked back. His 2.46-rated performance put Liquid to the sword in brutal fashion and sent 1win through to the next round.
Elsewhere in the bracket of death, 100 Thieves and BC.Game set up a mouth-watering matchup in the next round by comfortably winning their round of 32 matches against INFINITE and OG respectively. Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev vs. Nicolai "device" Reedtz, Emil "Magisk" Reif vs. his old Astralis teammates, the narrative simply writes itself.
The rest of the round of 32 provided a few surprises, with Phantom taking down NRG, JiJieHao eliminating DENDELE, and GenOne beating Echo.
Well-known sides like BIG, HEROIC and fnatic all picked up 2-0 victories, whilst Acend, EYEBALLERS and Inner Circle clinched close fights against FOKUS, SINNERS and Iberian Soul respectively.
