Nemiga secured their spot in the PGL Masters Bucharest playoffs with a 2-0 win on Cache (13-5) and Dust2 (19-15) against The MongolZ in the 2-2 Swiss group stage decider.
Daniel "syph0" Ageyev, the number two prospect in our ranking, who is on loan in Nemiga from Spirit Academy, had a day against The MongolZ, topping the scoreboard with a 1.90 rating, +8.09% swing, 111.3 ADR, and 51 kills across the two maps.
The MongolZ's struggles on Cache, where they had played three times this month with no victories, showed as Nemiga went on a rampage on the T side of their pick. The Asian team couldn't muster consecutive rounds in a 9-3 half, which included a 1v3 by syph0 and a 1v2 by Kirill "Xant3r" Kononov.
The MongolZ linked their first two rounds after the switch, but wouldn't get another as Nemiga settled into the CT side and won four in a row to make it 13-5.
Nemiga started Dust2 confidently, winning four of the first five rounds, but then The MongolZ went on a tear, winning seven of their own before losing the final one to lead 7-5 at the half.
Having won the second pistol round, Nemiga brought it even, 7-7, before the series was tied up again two rounds later when syph0 defended a B afterplant situation with a triple.
The MongolZ hit map point, 12-9, and looked poised to send it to the Mirage decider with a 97% map win probability, but couldn't close it out as Nemiga won three in a row while up against the wall to force extra rounds.
It took double overtime, as the two teams remained at a stalemate after six rounds, 15-15, when Beksultan "khaN" Ospan activated with seven kills in the four rounds it took Nemiga to punch their ticket to the playoffs with a 19-15 victory.
