TaZ: "I'm proud of the guys that they were fighting until the end. This is not something we were known for at the beginning of the year"

BC.Game have been eliminated from the Esports World Cup after a narrow loss to 100 Thieves, where the tiniest of margins decided their fate, as they lost the chance to clinch the game in two maps to a Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen 1v3 and went on to concede Anubis 11-13.

HLTV caught up with Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas for a brief interview after the match to ask him about the elimination and how the small details made the difference.

"CS is a game of small margins," he said. "Some rounds you lose an advantage, some you win in a disadvantage, so we can't really talk much about it, we just need to go back and get better."

The Pole praised his players for their resilience as well, saying this is a "huge change" from the previous roster BC.Game fielded at the beginning of the year.

"I'm proud of the guys that they were fighting until the end. This is not something we were known for at the beginning of the year, and that's definitely a huge change."

TaZ went on to address some of the issues BC.Game are facing early into this project, which has only just begun to develop under a new in-game leader in Emil "Magisk" Reif and with two new pieces in Ayush "mzinho" Batbold and Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold.

"There will be things we will miss, and this is something we tried to remind the whole team, that we won't be perfect, we will be missing utility, we will be forgetting tactics, which happened," he shared.

"With time we will get better and with time we will get the team more drilled, especially in these scenarios where there's an advantage or maybe there's a close game, in how we need to react as a team. This is our second LAN in this unit, and I believe we showed good CS and something good to look up to for the future."

"We need to remember Sasha and Denis are coming from a different sort of CS, and also mzinho and Senzu are coming from a different one, so it's connecting freestyle with a very heavy-set game where there is not much space for creativity, and then you have guys who are full creativity. We will just work on it and get better."
