100 Thieves eliminate Falcons in shock upset to end day two of BLAST Bounty S2

100 Thieves spoiled Falcons' start to the Fall season to end day two of BLAST Bounty Season 2, running out the victors in a three-map series that featured a comeback from 3-9 down on the Anubis decider and culminated in a 1v3 clutch by William "sirah" Kjærsgaard to deny overtime.

They were the second successful Bounty Hunters of the day after HOTU eliminated GamerLegion in their debut with Timur "FL4MUS" Marev, while G2 and FaZe scored wins over Nemiga and EYEBALLERS earlier in the day.

Falcons had a dominant initial return to the server, carving clean through 100 Thieves on Nuke with Nikola "NiKo" Kovač proving lethal on the defense. But a masterclass from Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren, combined with a few multi-kills from Håvard "rain" Nygaard and three clutches by Nicolai "device" Reedtz, resulted in a complete turnaround on Falcons' Dust2 pick, with Finn "karrigan" Andersen's side winning six rounds off the back of both pistols, but only adding a single gun round to that tally.

100 Thieves looked down and out on Anubis, faltering against a 2.21-rated half by Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, and were down 0-7 and 3-9 at the break. That deficit closed quickly after the swap as their new in-game leader, Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, called a near-flawless T side, winning eight straight rounds to hit match point before sirah clinched victory with a clutch to make up for two back-to-back triple kill rounds from karrigan.

"It feels really good, it's a nice win to have," rain said in a post-match broadcast interview, while heaping praise on his new IGL Gizmy, whose calling style he compared to his long-time teammate karrigan.

FaZe repeated their XSE Pro League Guangzhou victory over EYEBALLERS to kick off the day, ensuring there wouldn't be a repeat of the Swedes' Bounty win over FaZe at the start of the year that kicked off the American organization's downward spiral.

EYEBALLERS were hamstrung without their full lineup as Simon "yxngstxr" Boije stepped in for Max "maxster" Jansson, who was granted leave to go on vacation before the team accepted its invite to BLAST Bounty.

They were competitive at the onset, even leading 9-6 on Mirage, but a 1.65-rated map from Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski helped FaZe claim map point and ensure victory in overtime before they eventually converted an 11-3 lead on Dust2 to sweep the series.

G2's debut with Artem "r1nkle" Moroz was more troubled as Nemiga drew first blood on Anubis, but recoveries from slow starts on Mirage and Ancient ensured a reverse-sweep for Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač's troops.

The Ukrainian sniper ended the series as the second-lowest-rated player overall and worst on G2, averaging a 0.85 rating, but was in good spirits about his future when speaking to James "BanKs" Banks in a pre-match interview.

"Last year was pretty tough for me to enjoy the game," r1nkle said. "Towards the start of 2026, I started to get on the right track, I started to put in time, and work as hard as I can. And yeah, all good right now."

Later, he added that he was happy, and though he needs time to get implemented in the system, he has been given freedom to play how he wants by Eetu "sAw" Saha and huNter-. "You're gonna get a r1nkle that plays how he wants to play, a r1nkle that is going to enjoy the game," he said with a smile on his face.

HOTU became the first successful Bounty Hunters in Season 2 as they swept GamerLegion, who were also making their debut after re-signing FL4MUS. The Russian rifler was in fine form on Dust2, but his efforts weren't enough for GamerLegion to recover from a 1-7 deficit as HOTU closed the map in round 24.

A takeover by Dmitry "mizu" Kondratev and Aleksandr "dwushka" Pakhnevich on Ancient saw HOTU complete a near-lockout on the defense and concede just one round, which was a lead they made use of to put a comeback effort from GamerLegion to bed in the second half.
