Ninjas in Pyjamas are scouring the market for new IGLs as they will replace Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer after a run of mixed results, multiple sources told HLTV and Dust2 Brasil.
HLTV understands that the decision to bring in a new IGL was mutual, and that Snappi had previously said he would step down from the roster if the organization wished to go in a different direction. Sources added that the 36-year-old is open to transitioning to a new role within the scene.
According to Dust2 Brasil, MIBR turned down Ninjas in Pyjamas' offer for Linus "LNZ" Holtäng, who has been with the Brazilian organization since January.
Sources added that the Ninjas are also weighing up their options to permanently fill the vacancy created by Artem "cairne" Mushynskyi's benching in June. Academy player Roman "n0te" Hamze has been playing for the team since then on an interim basis.
Ninjas in Pyjamas are currently ranked 20th in the Europe VRS, with no tier-1 event invites on the horizon. They recently crashed out of the Esports World Cup in 17th-24th place following losses to Legacy and Astralis and a win against BetBoom.
Previously, the team placed 12th-14th at XSE Pro League, 5th-8th in BLAST Premier Rising, 3rd at Stake Ranked Episode 3, 9th-16th in BLAST Bounty, and 3rd-4th in the closed qualifier for StarSeries Fall.
Snappi has been on Ninjas in Pyjamas' books since January 2025, when the organization rebuilt the squad around Artem "r1nkle" Moroz, who was recently told to G2.
During his time at the helm, the veteran captain has led the Ninjas to the grand final of StarSeries Fall 2025, a Stage 2 appearance at the Budapest Major, and a top-12 finish at IEM Cologne 2025.
Ninjas in Pyjamas will return to action at Logitech G Play Connect, a $100,000 tournament in Warsaw from September 17-23. The team has also signed up for ROG Journey Autumn in early October.
