Liquid sign Jorko

The Bulgarian sniper replaces ultimate on the active roster.

Liquid have announced the signing of HLTV #28 Prospect Georgi "⁠Jorko⁠" Mitev as a replacement for Roland "⁠ultimate⁠" Tomkowiak, who was moved to the bench early on Thursday.

The 17-year-old Bulgarian AWPer joins Liquid after five months playing for FOKUS, where he averaged a 1.07 rating, won Urban Riga Open Season 3, and fell just shy of making the playoffs at PGL Bucharest.

Before joining FOKUS, Jorko moved in and out of CPH Wolves' roster and was a part of MOUZ NXT alongside Oldřich "⁠PR⁠" Nový and Adrian "⁠xelex⁠" Vincze.

It is another bet on youth for a Liquid side that has struggled for years to return to its glory days, with the AWP role often a pain point across several roster iterations.

Jorko's arrival mirrors that of ultimate, who severely lacked tier-one experience when he was signed by Liquid in July 2024. The Pole had made an impression on Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken after playing against him in practice games, and despite a few standout games, never managed to find a consistent level during his Liquid tenure.

Dismal results in 2026, including several early group stage exits and failures at tier-two LANs, saw Liquid tumble down the VRS and barely earn a spot at the IEM Cologne Major, where they were eliminated in Stage 1 with a 2-3 record.

Those results have prompted sweeping change in Liquid heading into the second season, with the team also reportedly targeting Johnny "⁠JT⁠" Theodosiou as its new in-game leader after averaging among the worst T-side win rates in the entire scene this year.
