HEROIC complete roster with Brollan

After a year and a half as an in-game leader, Brollan moves away from captaincy in the new HEROIC squad.

Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin has signed on with HEROIC to complete its new Counter-Strike roster, the organization announced on Tuesday.

He rounded out the squad following the additions of Antonio "⁠MartinezSa⁠" Martinez as the new AWPer and Joonas "⁠doto⁠" Forss as the new coach, in lieu of Yasin "⁠xfl0ud⁠" Koç, Simon "⁠yxngstxr⁠" Boije and Tobias "⁠TOBIZ⁠" Theo.

The Swede joined the team from MOUZ, where he was benched in April to make way for an overhaul of the roster, which saw Dorian "⁠xertioN⁠" Berman take over in-game leadership and Adrian "⁠xelex⁠" Vincze receive a promotion from MOUZ NXT.

But after over a year as an in-game leader, as the de facto replacement for xfl0ud, Brollan could now return to Opener roles he played during his time with fnatic and in which he placed 19th and 15th in the Top 20 players of 2019 and 2020 rankings.

But when asked about where Brollan will fit inside the system, HEROIC remained vague.

"Brollan comes in with a lot of experience under his belt and will easily be a big voice on the team, but he will obviously move away from the IGL role" HEROIC told HLTV.

"There are already a lot of changes to this team and the staff around it, so his and the others' roles will be more defined as we get more practice and officials in."

"With Ludvig and our recent signing, we want to make it known to the Counter-Strike community that HEROIC is here to stay. Our ambitions are the same as always, being among the top teams in Counter-Strike and compete for trophies."

HEROIC's roster comes to completion in time for its debut at Stake Ranked Episode 3, a $100,000 tournament taking place in Barcelona, Spain, where teams such as paiN, Ninjas in Pyjamas and 3DMAX are also in attendance.
