Legacy beat Falcons 2-0 in the Esports World Cup quarter-finals, eliminating the Finn "karrigan" Andersen-led squad from the tournament in their first LAN event since becoming Major champions.
This victory makes it two in a row against Falcons in head-to-heads, as they beat them the last time the two clashed in the CS Asia Championships grand final.
The series kicked off on Mirage, where Legacy won the first pistol round on the T side, but were quickly on the back foot as a brilliant Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov with the AWP racked up multi-kill rounds and was always in the right place at the right time.
The T side was a very different story, however, as Legacy won the pistol round and quickly turned their 5-7 deficit into a lead, and not only that ran away with a clean defense as a powerless Falcons were handed their first map loss in Paris, 13-7.
Dust2 kicked off with Legacy once again taking the lead, this time on the CT side, but a plant in the pistols allowed for a decent second-round buy by Falcons, who got off to an early 3-1 lead.
The Brazilians settled in with a big hold by Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira on B to help put a second on the board, and they won six of the next seven rounds with a big performance by their Argentinean AWPer, Santino "try" Rigal, to secure a 7-5 lead at the half.
Legacy made it four out of four in pistol rounds to extend their lead, but they couldn't run away as they did on Mirage. Falcons won two rounds with five alive and looked like they were about to change the flow of the game, winning five in a row and even taking the lead, 9-10.
The South American squad didn't crumble, however, and a big double opener by Bruno "latto" Rebelatto, with 10-10 on the board, helped his team regain the lead before an AWP double by try in a late-round 2v2 put Legacy on map point.
Just one round later, Legacy were celebrating their passage to the final four, where they will face either Spirit or Vitality.
