BC.Game and 100 Thieves are the two biggest names eliminated in the ROG JOURNEY Autumn quarter-finals following losses to BBL and JiJieHao, respectively.
It is a particularly crucial loss for the 100 Thieves side, who had hoped to use the Swedish event to further strengthen their chances to qualify for PGL Major Singapore following their run to second place at Stake Pulse Beat II last week.
They continue to teeter around the qualification line in Europe, slipping to a roughly 36% chance to qualify according to HLTV's new prediction page.
Their fate now depends on their runs at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm, Sweden from October 12-17 and FiRe Last Chance taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina just before the Singapore invite cut-off on October 29-November 1.
On the other hand, BC.Game had all but secured their Singapore qualification already after traversing the group stage, where they played enough matches to switch to the Asian VRS following the addition of Tyson "asap" Paterson.
Their debut with the Australian came undone at the hands of BBL, who had Jason "salazar" Salazar came up with a massive 1v5 clutch on the Inferno decider to help them secure a spot in the semi-finals.
In the other two quarter-finals, Ninjas in Pyjamas continued their uptick with Karim "Krimbo" Moussa and Adam "adamb" Ångström with a close-fought win over SINNERS, while Eternal Fire beat Sangal.
The semi-finals and grand final will be played over the course of Saturday:
