Astralis have announced the signing of Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov, confirming previous reports by HLTV and Sebastien "KRL" Perez that indicated the pair were targeted as replacements for Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard.
The move will see cmtry give up AWPing and become a rifler, leaving Love "phzy" Smidebrant on the Big Green. The Ukrainian joins Astralis after he was moved to FUT's bench at the start of October to make room for Álvaro "SunPayus" García, and will hope that a pivot away from the sniper can help turn around a rough run of form.
siuhy entered free agency on October 2 after a little over a year with Liquid, during which the team struggled to curb a downward spiral amidst early tournament exits, a lack of cohesion, and disappointing T side showings.
He, too, will hope to get back on track in Astralis, which will not feature a Danish majority for the first time. The team clinched an invite to PGL Major Singapore, according to HLTV's simulation page, after winning Stake Ranked Episode 4, which will help alleviate some pressure as it gets acquainted with its new players.
siuhy and cmtry will debut for Astralis at Stake Pulse Beat III, where the team has been placed in Group C and will face Sashi in its opener.
