BBL have announced that they have completed the signing of former Sashi member Mikkel "MistR" Thomsen, replacing Jonas "Boye" Boye Østergaard, who has been moved to the bench.
MistR's future had been up in the air since he and Casper "Cabbi" Jensen were benched by Sashi in favor of Australian duo Tynan "TjP" Purtell and Jordan "Hatz" Bajic as the organization opted to switch to the Asian VRS region.
The 22-year-old then announced that he had mutually parted ways with Sashi, thanking the organization for allowing him "to step away from this crazy situation."
His signing marks the first change to BBL's roster since the Turkish organization entered Counter-Strike with the acquisition of the BBL roster.
"His impact was noticeable from the very first practice sessions, bringing a new level of energy and intensity to the team," team manager Derya Üçpınar told HLTV.
"We believe that overcoming the challenges he has faced will only make him stronger, and we’re excited to support him as he takes this next step with BBL.
"We’re building this project with long-term ambitions, and we’re confident that MistR will be an important part of what we aim to achieve."
BBL are currently ranked 38th in the global VRS following a semi-final run at ROG JOURNEY Autumn, where they notably beat BC.Game in the playoffs. Stake Pulse Beat III and DraculaN Season 7 will offer them two more chances to pick up Valve points before the November 2 invite cut-off for the Singapore Major.
