Legacy have announced that Andrei "arT" Piovezan will miss ESL Pro League Season 24 as he has contracted meningitis, necessitating a recovery period of "at least 10 days." The Brazilian squad will travel to the event in Katowice with Pedro "bobz" Rocha as a substitute.
"arT is under medical care and in the recovery process and should remain sidelined for at least 10 days," Legacy's statement read. "We are following all necessary guidelines to ensure his well-being."
The news comes as a blow to a Legacy squad that was firmly in the ascendancy in recent months, having taken third place at Esports World Cup and claimed the trophy in their last outing at FISSURE Playground 3.
"We will keep everyone informed about arT's progress in the coming days," Legacy's statement continued. "We thank anyone who can leave a message of support and affection here at this time!"
Legacy's stand-in, bobz, has not featured for a team since 2024, when he turned out for MIBR Academy. Since that time he has featured as an assistant coach for Fluxo and Yawara, and in recent months has been working as an analyst for Legacy.
