9z have announced that Ignacio "meyern" Meyer has been placed on the bench, ending the Argentinian player's second stint with the team.
Meanwhile, 9z confirmed that Allan "history" Lawrenz will be playing for the team at the Singapore Major as a stand-in, The Brazilian AWPer has been without a stable team since his March benching by RED Canids, with whom he attended the StarLadder Budapest Major.
meyern had been on 9z's starting lineup since November 2025, when he took over AWPing duties from Guilherme "levi" Gustavo. The move was a reunion with the Argentinian organization, for which he had played as a rifler in 2020.
9z hope to shake things up before the Major with this change. The South American team reached the quarter-finals of the IEM Cologne Major and won XSE Pro League Guangzhou, but have struggled for form this season. They are currently on a seven-match losing streak, exiting PGL Masters Bucharest and IEM Beijing in last place.
"Right now we're lucky to be in the Major — there's no question about it," head coach Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima told Dust2 Brasil after the team's elimination in Bucharest.
"We really don't deserve it. We're in the Major because of how we've performed in previous tournaments—over the last three or four months—and I don't think we've really earned it."
