Official: HEROIC unveil MartinezSa
The Spanish AWPer bolsters HEROIC in his first move to an English-speaking team.
HEROIC have announced the signing of Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez to their Counter-Strike roster, confirming HLTV's Monday report of the move.
The 25-year-old Spaniard joins the team from Gentle Mates, who have been looking to exit Counter-Strike amid attempts to find buyers for the entire roster in the off-season.
The star AWPer replaces Simon "yxngstxr" Boije, who decided to step down from the roster after spending the past six months filling in as a makeshift sniper in the aftermath of Alimzhan "Alkaren" Bitimbay being sidelined by visa issues.
MartinezSa's HEROIC tenure will mark his first time playing in an English-speaking roster. Before this, he only played in Spanish-speaking teams as part of the likes of Movistar Riders, 9z and Gentle Mates.
Following his addition, HEROIC are still one man short after also benching Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç amid unconfirmed rumors that the Turk would be traded for FUT's Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea.
