FURIA are the next team to lock in a spot in the IEM Beijing playoffs after beating Natus Vincere on stage.
They will now face The MongolZ for a semi-final spot, while Natus Vincere drop down to the lower bracket to face the winner of Legacy vs. B8.
"It feels amazing, as we lost to NAVI last event," Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis told the stream post-game.
The series began on Ancient, where both pistol rounds allowed FURIA to secure overtime thanks to solid fragging output by Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato. In the end it was Natus Vincere who took the map, however, winning all four rounds of added time to take their map pick.
Nuke was another close affair that ended in overtime, as Natus Vincere couldn't convert their 9-3 CT half into a win in regulation. Both pistols once again went the way of FURIA, who eventually closed out the map thanks to KSCERATO finding eight kills in a flawless 4-0 streak for the majority-Brazilian squad.
Cache began with Natus Vincere finally winning their first pistol of the series, but FURIA bounced back with aplomb and won eight in a row to take a sizable lead into their offensive half.
Natus Vincere refused to give up, however, and it was not until Danil "molodoy" Golubenko won a 1v3 clutch that the game turned back in FURIA's direction. It remained close, but momentum had shifted and a Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo noscope and resulting finger wag at Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen signaled the death knell.
FalleN ended the deciding map with 98.7 ADR, and Aleksib paled in comparison with just eight frags to his name.
Recently crowned the number one team in the world by HLTV ranking, FURIA continue to fight past their exhaustion to win matches and are now eyeing a third trophy in a row.
