MIBR defeated The MongolZ in the Group B opening match of FISSURE Playground 3, securing a three-map victory (Ancient 5-13, Mirage 13-10, Inferno 13-10) on their LAN debut with new recruit Tomas "tomaszin" Corna.
The Argentinian rifler had a rough opening map on Ancient (0.55 map rating), but bounced back on Mirage (1.30) and Inferno (1.06) to help his team start the event with a victory.
The match was eventually decided in overtime on the Inferno decider, where a plethora of The MongolZ missplays and a crucial Lucas "nqz" Soares 1vs3 clutch turned the tide in favor of the South American squad.
MIBR are now set to face off against 9z for a playoff spot, while The MongolZ will clash with fellow countrymen 5star.
Earlier in the day, 9z made light work of 5star in their opener, while Legacy edged past magic in a close three-mapper.
