XSE releases statement regarding issues at XSE Pro League Guangzhou

XSE has taken a number of steps, including dismissing a lead admin, following criticism of their XSE Pro League Guangzhou event.

XSE has released a statement addressing the numerous problems that have struck the $1,000,000 XSE Pro League Guangzhou LAN, following the conclusion of the event's group stage.

The tournament had come in for heavy criticism after the first two days of play were severely delayed by technical issues and several other problems had been highlighted by players at the event across the group stage, including reports of malicious software being present on tournament PCs.

XSE began by admitting that they were "not adequately prepared" for the technical issues that struck on the first day of the event, before confirming reports that the delay on the second day of the event was caused by a power outage.

Their statement went on to acknowledge a string of further issues, claiming to have taken steps to address or resolve the problems.

Most notably XSE addressed the hacking of Kirill "⁠Magnojez⁠" Rodnov's steam account and the aformentioned reports of malicious software being present on tournament PCs.

The tournament organizer stated they have dismissed "the lead admin responsible," wiped and reinstalled the affected systems, and replaced a number of training room PCs.

The statement comes ahead of the tournament's playoffs, which are set to kick off Thursday July 9, and following a number of days of group stage play that proceeded with minimal delays.
