Spirit take down MOUZ for BLAST Open Porto title

Spirit have won BLAST Open Porto after defeating MOUZ 3-1 in the grand final.

It was revenge well-earned for Danil "donk" Kryshkovets and company, having lost in the Bounty final to the same opponents just over one month ago.

Instead it was more reminiscent of 2025's IEM Cologne final between the two teams, when MOUZ beat Vitality in the semi-final but could not hit the same heights against Spirit in the final.

It's Spirit's second consecutive trophy after their win at the Esports World Cup as they embark on achieving donk's goal of "dominating" the CS scene. With Vitality in decline and Falcons struggling to repeat their Major glory, it's a goal that suddenly seems achievable.

The final began on Dust2, where Spirit learned from their BLAST Bounty mistakes and made sure to punish MOUZ's B site weakness.

"I'm tilted, I hate this map," Oldřich "PR" Nový was recorded as saying halfway through the half and it's easy to see why. The Czech anchor began well, with two triple kills on his site, but as Spirit kept heading to B MOUZ began to crumble.

On T side it was even worse for PR, as he went frag-less for most of the half and ended Dust2 on a 0.55 rating. It wasn't much better for his site partner Lotan "Spinx" Giladi (0.64), nor the team's pre-final MVP candidate Adrian "xelex" Vincze (0.57).

Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov, who was excellent on map one, continued his form with seven kills across the two pistol rounds on Mirage as Spirit reached an 11-4 lead.

But then, MOUZ's young anchors fought back. Even with Dorian "xertioN" Berman 0-11 in openers, the Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen CT side clawed their way back by winning nine rounds in a row to win 13-11.

It's telling that donk has barely been mentioned so far, but on Ancient that changed. On the map Spirit had 14 wins in a row on, donk put MOUZ to the sword with a 2.39 rating to make it 15.

Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia, a player who was under pressure at times since returning from the bench, also came up clutch with a big 1v3 clutch. And he was even more crucial on Nuke, where his Glock of all weapons rang the death knell for MOUZ's championship hopes, as Spirit denied MOUZ any comeback despite their second half pistol win.

A few rounds later it was done, with Spirit crowned champions once again and setting their sights on even more.
