The MongolZ have completed the signing of Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga from The Huns, confirming an October 1 report from HLTV. The 28-year-old joins the team alongside Anarbileg "cobrazera" Uuganbayar, who has been brought back into the starting lineup after almost three months on the bench.
nin9 and cobrazera will fill the vacancies created by the double benching of Zolbayar "tikuak" Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren "DarkMeister" Ireedui. The pair made their final appearance for The MongolZ at FISSURE Playground 3, where cobrazera stood in for Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold.
The move marks nin9's return to The MongolZ after he played for the team back in 2018, when head coach Erdenedalai "maaRaa" Bayanbat was in the lineup.
He also reunites with Techno and Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren, his teammates on the IHC roster that made history in 2022 as the first Mongolian team to qualify for a Major. maaRaa was the coach of that team, which went out 1-3 in the Challengers Stage in Antwerp.
The MongolZ will be hoping that nin9's arrival will bring some much-needed stability to the team after a rough start to the season. They are currently ranked 48th in the world and could soon lose the No.2 spot in Asia to BC.Game.
The new The MongolZ roster will debut at 1win Private Club Season 2, a $100,000 LAN event in Belgrade from October 19-22. They will also play at PGL Masters Bucharest from October 24-31.
