The first two teams to reach the FISSURE Playground 3 group stage upper bracket final are MIBR in Group A and Legacy in Group B and, as such, have secured spots in the tournament's playoffs. Four more playoff spots are up for grabs for the other upper bracket finalist in each group as well as the winner of either lower bracket.
To secure their playoff berth, MIBR beat The MongolZ in the opening round of the tournament, and then made quick work of 9z in the Group A upper bracket semi-final. Lucas "nqz" Soares led the way against his former team with a 1.31 rating in the series, followed by star rifler Felipe "insani" Yuji posting a 1.25.
It was a one-sided affair for the Brazilian-majority side, as they won their Mirage pick after posting seven rounds on the attack and then winning six of seven as CTs to make it 13-6. Nuke was similar, as nine rounds on the defense were more than enough of a cushion to take the map 13-7.
9z are now slated to take the winner of G2 vs. BIG in the lower bracket, while MIBR will play for seeding in the playoffs against the winner of Astralis vs. BETBOOM.
In Group B, Legacy beat magic in the opening round before securing their playoff berth with a dominant performance against Alliance, powered by 1.40+ performances from Santino "try" Rigal, Bruno "latto" Rebelatto, and Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer.
The series kicked off on the Swedish team's pick of Inferno, but they were no match for the South Americans, who got off to a 9-3 start on the CT side and were quick to close it out on the attack, winning four of five rounds to make it 13-4.
The second map was not much better for Alliance, as they only mustered one more round per half in the 13-6 defeat on Dust2. It's not their end, however, as they will continue to fight to reach the playoffs through the lower bracket.
Legacy's playoff seeding match will be against the winner of PARIVISION vs. FURIA, while Alliance will go up against either TYLOO or GamerLegion in the second round of the lower bracket.
