The majority of the favorites lived up to expectations as the action resumed in massive the EWC open qualifier, with the likes of Liquid and 100 Thieves making their way to the playoffs without dropping a map.
There were a few unusual paths to the playoffs. After Eternal Fire suffered an upset defeat to NADE on Friday, a forfeit from SadFamous sent them directly to the decider match, where they avenged the loss and secured a spot in the next stage.
In one of the standout matches of the round, Echo took down OG 2-1, sending Casper "cadiaN" Møller's troops into the decider match.
Elsewhere, EYEBALLERS survived a close battle against Phantom. After falling short against Nico "nicoodoz" Tamjidi and company on Ancient in double overtime to lose the map 17-19, the Swedish side bounced back on Anubis to complete the comeback.
