HEROIC have announced that Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer has been named the new head coach of their Counter-Strike team, replacing Joonas "doto" Forss, who was moved to the bench earlier on Thursday.
The news marks the end of Snappi's playing career, which spanned nearly two decades and three games. He stepped down from Ninjas in Pyjamas's roster at the end of August, two weeks after HLTV reported that he was considering a transition to a different role.
It's a return to HEROIC for Snappi, who played for the team for over two years across two spells between 2016 and 2020. He inherits a squad currently ranked 17th in the world, projected to have a 77.4% chance of qualifying for the Singapore Major, and that has lifted two titles this season, at Stake Ranked Episode 3 and Stake Pulse Beat II.
Snappi will appear on HLTV Confirmed at 19:00 to discuss this new challenge and his time on Ninjas in Pyjamas.
The 36-year-old will make his first appearance behind HEROIC at Stake Pulse Beat III, which will take place between October 12-17 in Stockholm. Astralis, MIBR and Envy are among the other teams attending the $80,000 LAN.
